Green Bay Packers vs. Washington Redskins
The Green Bay Packers and WPS Health Insurance paid special tribute to U.S. Navy Lieutenant Katrina Destree during Sunday’s Packers-Redskins game for Operation Fan Mail.
Katrina, a native of Neenah, Wis., and lifelong Packers fan, graduated from Neenah High School and attended the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology. Afterward, she attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where she received her doctorate of medicine.
Although Katrina enlisted in the Navy prior to going to medical school, she didn’t serve until 2011, when she was stationed at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va.
In 2013, she was deployed to Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan where she served as the regimental surgeon in charge of medical services for more than 1,200 Marines.
Katrina attended the game with her husband, Mat, her sister-in-law, Erin, and her brother, Chris. She enjoyed the game while on leave, and returned to duty the week after.
